During my 5 years in the driver training industry I have learnt that there are many ways to teach a pupil to drive. I believe that as an instructor I have to be able to adjust and adapt my teaching methods to suit each individual pupils abilities.
Some pupils prefer two hour lessons where they can quickly gain their licence, other pupils prefer shorter lessons. This is an example of carrying out the training to suit each pupil's needs. I am flexible and can train around my pupils lifestyle, for example if a pupil is at college or the workplace I can collect or drop them off at a location to suit their needs.
I also make sure that no other pupil is present in the car when training is carried out, as I believe the pupil should not have to endure any other distraction whilst learning to drive and that the pupil gets the most out of the "learning to drive" experience.
I currently teach in a Diesel Toyota Yaris 1.4TR, "59" Plate. The car is comfortable and has a high seating position, which is a distinct advantage when carrying out the reversing manoeuvres.
